Did it!
Today’s shot was the result of spending most of the afternoon and evening playing around with my water drop equipment.
The shot is taken with a Tamron 90mm macro lens, and three flashguns, one on each side of the drop and one on the background to reflect light back onto the water.
A sensor detects when the water drop drops and fires the flashgun a set number of microseconds later, changing the timing means you can catch the drops at different stages of their short life.
This one is a water drop collision as a falling drop crashes into a drop which has already fallen and bounced back up off the surface of the water.
