Did it!
Today’s shot was taken on the kitchen table.
The setup is a some water in a flat bottomed glass dish, cooking oil is poured onto the water. The bowl is balanced 6 inches off the table and some coloured paper is put underneath. The oil droplets refract the colours. The paper is lit with an off-camera flash.
