Thursday night is Camera Club night in Letchworth and tonight was the first of our internal club competitions of the year.
Members of the club submit photos into an open competition which is judged by an external professional judge. Points are awarded and at the end of the night the top ten are announced.
There are 4 competitions a year in three different classes; Colour Print; Mono Print and Digital Image. The points in each series of competition are added up over the course of the year and the winner is awarded a trophy in the 3 classes.
In 2010 I was fortunate enough to win all three cups which I’ll get at our annual photography exhibition being held in February. I didn’t dotoo bad tonight either coming second in the colour print comp and getting third, second and first in the Monochrome Print comp.
Anyway, that’s all by-the-by, the photo above is my mount-cutting setup as competition prints have to be mounted for display.
